etrailer Trailer Hitch Receiver Installation - 2017 Ram 1500- Video

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the etrailer trailer hitch receiver on a 2017 Ram 1500. Now if your Ram didn't come with a factory hitch, a lot of times there's gonna be a factory bumper beam that allows you to bolt up a hitch, that's just this small section here. And that's gonna utilize the bumper pole mount and it makes for a really nice hitch here. It sits perfectly well on the bumper, it just slightly extends from it, and it's a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. So when it comes to any accessories, whether it be bike racks, ball mounts, or cargo carriers, you're gonna have tons of options available. Now all of those accessories are gonna stay in place with a 5/8 pin and clip. more

Curt Trailer Hitch Installation - 2022 Ram 1500- Video

Now this is gonna be a great addition to your truck, if you do have the factory reinforcement bar and it's gonna be a lot easier than a full hitch install. And this is gonna give you a decent amount of towing capacity as well as tongue weight. In fact, this one comes in at 6,000 pounds of gross trailer weight rating which is gonna be the weight of the trailer plus the accessories loaded up. Now your tongue weight is gonna be 600 pounds and that's gonna be the downward pressure that's put on the receiver tube opening. more

Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today we're going to be taking a look at the etrailer Class III Custom-Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2013 Ram 1500, and here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. It's going to have a really clean, almost factory appearance, because all we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out right here at the back of the bumper.Now, since it is a class III, it's going to give us that two-inch-by-two-inch receiver tube opening, and they have the widest variety of options when it comes to accessories. Obviously, we're going to be able to put in a ball, so we can tow a trailer. But also if we use our truck for working, we're going to be able to put in a bed extender and carry some really elongated gear, or if we just want to hit the trails with some friends, we could put a bike rack in there. The options really are very, very wide, and we can do a lot when we have a hitch on the back of our truck.But regardless of what kind of accessory you're going to be using, they're all going to mount to the hitch pin hole here on the side. Rob: Rob here at etrailer.com, and today you're going to be taking a look at the Draw-Tite Class IV Custom Fit Trailer Hitch Receiver on our 2013 Ram 1500.Now here's what our hitch is going to look like once we have it installed. The crosstube is going to sit right below the bumper, but it sits back a little bit so we're not going to see it as much, and the main thing we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out. Now, it is a Class IV but it's still going to give us that 2" x 2" receiver tube opening, so we're going to have a really wide variety of options when it comes to accessories.Obviously, we could put a ball mount in there, tow a trailer, but we can also hit the trails, put a bike rack in there, take some bikes with us. Make some room inside the bed and cabinet of our truck, put a cargo carrier back there, or maybe we need to carry a lot of elongated gear like drywall, plywood or anything like that. We can put a bed extender in there. But regardless of what we're going to be using it for or what accessory we mount up, all of our accessories are going to mount to the hitch pinhole here on the side. more

Today on our 2019 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class III 2" Trailer Hitch Receiver.The first thing I noticed about this hitch is that it's going to look really nice, like it's almost factory. It's going to be completely hidden. The only thing you're going to see is a receiver tube. The hitch is going to sit up nice and tight against the bottom of our bumper, so we're not really going to have to worry about sacrificing any of our trucks ground clearance, and the end of the receiver tube is going to sit about flush with the edge of our bumper. So it's going to work really well if you're having to plan on using it for some accessories like a cargo carrier or a bike rack. more

Today on our 2016 Ram 1500, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Curt Class 3, 2 inch, trailer hitch receiver. Now, this is what our hitch looks like installed. As you can see, pretty much the whole hitch is exposed, but it does blend in nicely with the contour lines of the Ram. Now, one thing I really like about it, is how flush it sits with the bumper. That's going to allow us to pretty much any hitch mounted accessories without any interference. It's also nice because you won't have to worry about busting your leg on it when you're walking around the bed of your truck.This is a Class 3 hitch, so it's going to have that 2 inch by 2 inch receiver tube opening and a thick, reinforced collar for extra support. more

Today on our 2018 Ram 1500 we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the etrailer.com class three trailer hitch receiver, part number E98852. This is what our hitch looks like when it's installed. What's nice about this hitch and what's going to set it apart from others is how compact it is. Everything's contained right here in the center of your bumper area unlike some of the other ones that are going to have a cross tube that's going to stretch across the underside of your bumper here and then hook to your frame rails. As far as the weight capacities that can go on this, you're going to have a 600-pound max tongue weight which is the downward pressure on the inside of the receiver tube, and you're going to have a gross towing weight of 6,000 pounds which is how much it's going to pull. Now that's trailer plus the load included.You can use weight distribution with this hitch. more

One nice thing about this hitch that you'll notice is that we have plenty of clearance around the receiver. This will make it easy for us to use with our ball mounts, hooking up to our trailer, our bike racks, and our cargo carriers without having to worry about any interference of our bumper.On the side of our receiver, you'll notice that there's two pin holes. The larger one, closer to the front of the vehicle, that is our industry standard, five eighths of an inch diameter hitch pin hole that we use to secure any of our hitch mounted accessories with a pin and clip. You can pick up a pin and clip on our website. That's part number PC3.Closest to the rear, that is for a j-pin stabilization device.what that does is take away the annoying shake play and rattle out of what is inserted into your receiver. more

Speaker 1: Today in this 2012 Ram 1500 we'll be having a look at and showing you how to install the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame class 5 trailer hitch receiver, part number 41948.One thing that's great about this hitch is that we have plenty of clearance around our bumper so we don't have to worry about causing any damage to our bumper as we're hooking it up to our trailer or using with bike racks or cargo carriers.On the side of our receiver you'll find two pin holes. The larger one closest to the front of the vehicle, that's our 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole, secure hitch mount and accessories. One thing I'd like to point out, it is reinforced around the opening on it. Because this being a class 5 hitch and capable of towing a lot of weight, you want to make sure that's reinforced so you don't have to worry about the hole becoming elongated as you're towing a heavy trailer.Closer to the rear we have our J pin stabilization device hole. What that does is take away the annoying shake, play and rattle at what's inserted in your receiver. You can pickup one of those separately on our website if you need to.On the end of our receiver we have this nice collar that's welded on to give us a nice finished look. more

Here's what our hitch looks like once we have it installed. We are going to be able to see that cross tube, just right below the bumper, but it's going to hide nicely, because it has that flat, black, powder coat finish on it, so it's just going to blend in.Mainly what we're going to see is that receiver tube sticking out, and it is a Class V, which means it's going to give us that 2" X 2" receiver tube opening, and as you can see, it's got that nice, reinforced collar, giving it added strength, and just an overall finished look.The way we're going to attach all of our accessories is going to be through this pinhole, here, and that's going to accept a stand 5/8 pin and clip. They're not included, but you can pick one up on our website, using part number PC3.The safety chain connection points are going to be a plate style, welded directly to the bottom of our cross tube and receiver tube, here, and the loops are going to be rather large, so we're going to have plenty of room to get most sized hooks on or off. Just want to keep in mind, if you are using a locking device, may have a little bit of trouble, depending on the angle, because they are directly in front of that pin.As fat as the weight's concerned, this is a Class V, so it's going to give us a lot of weight capacity. more

They're not included but you can pick some up on our website using part number PC3.As far as the safety chain connection points go, it's going to be a plate style welded to the bottom. As you can see, we're not going to have any trouble getting most sized hooks on or off. Just keep in mind that if you are using a locking device, that pin hole is pretty close to where the safety chains go so you want to make sure that it doesn't interfere with anything.Now as far as weight capacity goes, our hitch is going to have a 1,000 pound ton weight along with a 10,000 pound gross trailer weight rating. more

Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 1500 - Draw-Tite- Video

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500 we'll be installing the Draw Tite Ultra Frame Class 5 Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number 41948. We have a large diameter frame that goes across, very strong and very structural. You can see our 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin hole is reinforced on the outside edge on both sides of our receiver. One nice thing about this hitch, even though it's a Class 5 hitch and a very substantial hitch, it still tucks in behind our bumper here of our vehicle, so when we're loading the bed of our truck, we don't have to worry about running our shins or knees into the receiver on the hitch. This Class 5 hitch has a 1,500 pound max gross tongue weight rating and a 12,000 pound max gross trailer weight rating. If you step up to weight distribution, you're max tongue weight stays the same at 1,500 pounds but your max gross trailer weight rating increases to 15,000 pounds. You'll want to consult with the owner's manual of your Ram 1500 first before you tow at that limit. more

We have these nice, easy to use safety chain loops right here so we can hook up our safety chains of our trailer. You can see it's of substantial plate that's welded to the bottom of our receiver and to the frame of our hitch itself. We have our standard 5/8 of an inch diameter hitch pin hole right here, so secure any of our hitch mounting accessories that we have. We have this nice reinforcement collar welded to the front of our receiver right here where we insert our accessories. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2015 Ram 1500 - Curt C15572- Video

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we'll be installing the Curt Class V Trailer Hitch Receiver, part number C15572. This is a Class V hitch, so it can handle a substantial amount of weight. That's why we need to have this frame, versus just utilizing the factory hitch attachment points that would be right here on a small square. It's very heavy duty. They're made to handle a lot of weight and abuse. You can just see by the thickness of our safety chain loops here how substantial it is, being welded all to the bottom of the receiver, and all the way back to the frame of the hitch itself. This hitch will work great for you if you're in construction, or doing a lot of heavy duty work with heavy duty equipment, and you have to tow a big trailer behind you with a lot of weight, but you can't utilize a goose neck or a fifth wheel trailer, this will work out perfectly for you. We have these easy use safety chain loops right here. We have our standard 5/8ths inch diameter hitch pin hole right here, and a nice collar welded around the opening of our receiver to add some reinforcement to it. more

Here's what our Curt Class 3 Trailer Hitch Receiver's going to look like once it's installed on the back of our vehicle. You can see how it's going to stick out just a little bit and have a real nice, sleek, and stylish look on the back of our vehicle. It's going to have that gloss black powder coat finish that's going to prevent any kind of rust and corrosion as well as a fully welded design. We're going to have our real nice large chain tie-downs on either side as well as a 5/8 inch pin hole going straight through the center to secure all of our 2 inch accessories. This is going to have a 2 x 2 inch receiver tube opening, offering a 600 lbs tongue weight rating and 6,000 lbs towing capacity.
